An impressive reproduction of a large Bronze Roman Oil Lamp with one unique noozle, a fish style handle, tall foot, and detailed relief of Nike, the goddess personification of victory. A seal can be read with latin inscriptions: Annum Novum Faustum Felicem. This type of oil lamp was traditionally given as a good wish for New Year’s Day by the Romans and there are many similar findings on diplay in many museums in the world, including a 100 AD finding in the British Museum.
Copper Alloy Sculpture
Our lamps are produced by a unique and proprietary casting process. They are made of copper alloys and brass with a green oxide patina. The lamp has a look comparable to archaeological copper alloys and bronzes. They are finished by hand.
Please note there can be slight differences between the color of the item you receive and the website due to the handmade nature of the product.
