Our small Canova Lions - Statues in pair are an amazing reduction of the guarding lions at tomb of Pope Clement XIII in St. Peters in Rome. The lions were made by the most famous neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova, and then were commissioned by the 6th Duke of Devonshire in 1823, for Chatsworth House in England.
The Sleeping Lion in Chatsworth House was made by Rinaldo Rinaldi and the Crouching Lion was made by Francesco Benaglia, each weighing 3.5 tonnes.
Another reproduction of Canova Lions can be found at the entrance of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., cast in bronze from molds taken from the originals of Canova. Would you like to have your own Chatsworth Lions Statue in pair in your home interior? Our Canova lions are the ideal decorative sculpture for those enthusiasts of lion sculptures for interiors.
Marble Sculpture
Our sculpture is produced by a unique and proprietary dry casting process. They are made of white Carrara marble and over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural marble which gives it a look and feel of natural marble. They are finished by hand.
