Plato, 428-347 BC, was one of the most famous Greek philosophers, and founder of the (Platonic) Academy in Athens, the first school institution of higher learning of the western world.
Plato's famous mentor was Socrates, and his most celebrated student was Aristotle, founder of his own school, the Lyceum, and considered the father of the western philosophy and teacher to Alexander the Great.
