Porcellino - The Uffizi Boar statue replica.
The ancient roman marble copy (2nd-1st century BC.) of the Greek bronze original was found on the Esquiline hill and now is housed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
The statue became famous after a 17th century bronze copy made by Pietro Tacca for Cosimo II de Medici what is now placed on the Mercato Nuovo in Florence. This statue is commonlyy called now 'Porcellino' or Piglet'.
Our sculpture is produced by a unique and proprietary dry casting process. They are made of white Carrara marble and over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural marble which gives it a look and feel of natural marble. They are finished by hand.
