  Hermes was one of the twelve main Olympian gods, and known as a phallic god, god of fertility and good fortune. Hermes was the son of Zeus and half brother to Apollo.
  
  Our Hermes bust sculpture is taken from the 2.34m statue, the only original work of Praxiteles to be found, at the temple of Hera in 1877. Hermes is holding the infant Dionysus on his shoulder.

Eighty percent of the process is dedicated to hand-finishing the surface. This intensive hand-finishing is essential to bring out the stone particles and enhance the natural stone feel.
