• The Canova Lions, as sculpture bookends.
  
  The Lions were originally made by the sculptor Antonio Canova for the Rezzonico monument in St. Peters, Rome.
  
  They were then commissioned by the 6th Duke of Devonshire in 1823, for Chatsworth House, England.
  
  The sleeping Lion was made by Rinaldo Rinaldi and the Crouching Lion was made by Francesco Benaglia, each weighing 3.5 tonnes each of Carara marble.

Crafted with white Carrara marble, over 90% of each finished sculpture is composed of natural marble, giving it the authentic look and feel of genuine marble. Eighty percent of the process is dedicated to hand-finishing the surface. This intensive hand-finishing is essential to bring out the stone particles and enhance the natural stone feel.
