Giovanni Zoffoli Vase, Italian, mid 18th century.
Also known as the Borghese vase, it is one of the most influential marble vases from antiquity, decorated with carved scenes, depicting the feast of Bacchus, and figures escorting the drunken Silenus.
The original was purchased by Napoleon, and from 1645 until 1807 It was housed in the Villa Borghese.
The original is now in the Louvre, which was first recorded in Rome, in 1594.
