Lansdowne Antinous (as Dionysus) & Ariadne Bust Sculptures, a pair. The first inspired by the Antinous bust of Hadrian's villa (c. 130-138 AD) displayed now in the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge, England, and the second inspired by an Ariadne bust created by neoclassical artist Bertel Thorvaldsen (c. 1805-1810).
This is a pair of romanticism busts after the antiques recreated by Leone Clerici, Italy,1882.
Clerici specialised in reproducing famous antique sculptures, working from his studio in Rome, and his work was in great demand.
Marble Sculpture
Our sculpture is produced by a unique and proprietary dry casting process. They are made of white Carrara marble and over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural marble which gives it a look and feel of natural marble. They are finished by hand.
