Extremely happy that I spent the bit of extra money on this rather than a sort of faux bust made of less solid material. This item is the real deal, looks and feels museum worthy. Exceeded expectations. The bottom base is entirely stone, including the under-side, without any sort of felt or rubber feet to rest on a surface. But I could add that myself if I wanted. Very hard to find anything to complain about.

Thanks again for the beautiful statue of Michelangelo’s David that I received some more than a week ago! I heard that you liked to see where your statues finally are standing, here is a photo of mine… it is surrounded by a candle holder by the British artist Jam Sutton, a porcelain vase of our most famous ceramist Pieter Stockmans, a turtle shell cast and some of my tropical bird mounts, under a globe because of the cat. In the background you also see an authentic Buddha. With warm regards from the Belgian coast

Having been 24 years an exhibition designer in the Cultural Center of Knokke, Belgium, for the most famous artists on our globe in the most different disciplines, I had made a montage of a photo of the original David next to one of your creation! When I composed an exhibition, everything had to be perfect into the smallest detail, and with that eye, I compared the two for several times as the production process took about 2 1/2 months. As I wrote in my title, your statue just is perfect. There are a lot of differences to be mentioned though, that’s for sure, the bridge of the nose f.e. is broader, the lower lip, in reality is smaller and more contoured, the eyebrows aren’t as rough as the original etc… and many more. ( the curls of the hair are almost identical! ) But when I opened the box and watched the statue, I saw ‘David’, with the same expression as the original, with a cast that’s sublime ( as my ‘veiled vestal virgin’ was ) and polished perfectly. The texture in the pedestal contrasts beautifully with the paleness of the bust, so that’s a good choice! I want to conclude by saying that as a perfectionist, at first sight, I didn’t have the feeling that some details were different but the most important thing is that I received an overall impression of what Michelangelo’s David radiates and what he carries in his soul! Congratulations, you captured the essence of what the work of art is about, as it is the case with so many other items that you sell!

I received the ‘David’ statue earlier than expected, a welcome surprise. It has a magnetic quality, at any angle you choose to look at it. It inspires you to travel to see the original.

Our Head of David sculpture depicts part of the masterpiece created in marble between 1501 and 1504 by the Italian artist Michelangelo, putting emphasis on the warning glare of David.
