Madame du Barry, a bust, by Augustin Pajou, c1773.
A fantastic period female marble bust sculpture of Madame du Barry, mistress to Louis XV, made in 1773, when Augustin Pajou was 43 years of age. Thus, it may be considered a work belonging to the Mature period of Augustin Pajou, this piece is now housed in the Louvre collection, Paris.
This piece also looks good in our blackened bronze finish.
Our sculpture is produced by a unique and proprietary dry casting process. They are made of white Carrara marble and over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural marble which gives it a look and feel of natural marble. They are finished by hand.
