The Creation of Adam Mosaic (Fragment) is one of our collection of Renaissance Mosaics. This masterpiece is a reproduction of a fragment of the famous fresco painting (painted 1508–1512) by Michelangelo, that can be found on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. It illustrates the secene from the Book of Genesis when God breathes life into Adam, the first man. The image of the hands of God and Adam that is also represented on our mosaic has become iconic of humanity.
This masterpiece is an entirely handmade mosaic reproduction created using the techniques of ancient romans called "Opus tessellatum", cubic stones tiles mosaic. During its manufacture 8 mm stone and natural marble tiles are used, all together being fixed on mortar with a metallic structure.
Can be installed on wall or floor.
